Your Privacy Matters
Your privacy is the foundation we build on, not an afterthought.
What We Can and Cannot See
Lifelines is built on a zero-knowledge architecture. Your passwords, documents, and notes are encrypted on your device before they ever reach our servers — we cannot decrypt or view them under any circumstances. The only information we retain is your email address, basic device information for technical support, and subscription status. We do not collect browsing data, build advertising profiles, or engage in data mining of any kind.
Data Security
All vault data is encrypted with AES-256 — the same standard used by banks and governments. Your encryption keys are derived from your master password, which never leaves your device. We cannot read, decrypt, or access your vault contents. Even in the unlikely event of a server breach, your data would remain unreadable.
Emergency Access & Family Groups
When you enable Emergency Access, designated trusted people can request access after a waiting period you control. Family Group members share a subscription but each person’s vault stays private and encrypted independently. Only items you explicitly share are visible to others.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information — ever. We do not share data with advertising networks or data brokers. We only work with a small number of service providers (Supabase, Stripe, Apple/Google) necessary to operate Lifelines, and they cannot decrypt your vault.
Data Retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you cancel, your account enters a 30-day grace period so you have time to export or make arrangements. After that, your encrypted vault data is permanently deleted.
Your Rights
You can access, correct, export, and delete your data at any time. EU residents have additional GDPR rights. California residents have CCPA/CPRA rights. We honor Do Not Track signals. Your data is yours — we’ll never hold it hostage.
